Why should you book a test

Hearing Loss Isn’t Just an Age Thing

Hearing loss affects people of all ages—not just older adults. It can be caused by:
•    Noise Exposure – Loud music, noisy work environments and some hobbies can permanently damage hearing.
•    Infections – Viral infections (like flu or COVID-19) can cause sudden or long-term hearing loss.
•    Medications – Some common medicines, can impact hearing.
•    Ear Blockages – Wax build-up, fluid behind the eardrum, or damage to the middle ear can affect hearing.
•    Neurological Conditions & Injuries – Head trauma, stroke, or conditions like multiple sclerosis can impact hearing.

Hearing loss isn’t just “one thing” – it has many causes. A check can uncover what’s happening and what you can do about it.  The hearing check is included as a standard procedure during an appointment.
Sudden Hearing Loss – Act Fast

If you experience sudden hearing loss in one or both ears, seek medical advice as soon as possible.
Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL) can occur without warning and may need urgent treatment within 48-72 hours for the best chance of recovery.

The sooner it’s treated, the better the outcome—delaying could lead to permanent hearing loss.

Hearing Check referral

If our hearing test highlights areas for further investigation we can refer you to a hearing specialist.

If you need ear wax removal

Following your Ear Health Check, our trained clinicians will review your results in detail. Depending on the findings, you may be advised to book a follow-up appointment with a hearing specialist for further assessment or treatment.

If ear wax removal is required, this may be carried out using microsuction — a safe and effective method of cleaning the ear canal. Please note that additional fees apply for microsuction, and this service is likely to require a separate appointment.

Our team will guide you through the next steps and ensure you receive the most appropriate care based on your individual needs.
